Autumn Moments (1)

Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year!! What is there not to love? Everything from the weather beginning to change (even though it’s basically summer all year round in south Georgia) to duck boots, sweaters and cute scarves, delicious smelling candles, candy apples…I could go on and on. I decided to share some of my favorite fall activities and dates that are perfect for this time of year, whether it is with some of your best girlfriends or your sweet loved one. Enjoy! ūüôā

1. Fair Nights

The fair is always the perfect date spot for you and your longtime boyfriend or that certain someone you’ve had your eye on for some time. Fair season typically means that it’s chilly and you need someone to keep you warm, especially when you get to the top of that Farris¬†wheel.¬† It is also a perfect hand holding spot. Personally, my boyfriend HATES PDA, but this year at the fair he didn’t¬†mind when I reached over and took his hand leading him to my favorite attractions. Take your special someone to the fair this year and devour a funnel cake…I know I did.

2. Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes

Untitled design (1)

Ahh yes, one of my favorites! Pumpkin patches and corn mazes bring me pure joy. This is not something I would necessarily do on a date with a boy, but every year in college my sorority¬†would make it a trip as a sisterhood retreat to go to a pumpkin patch. You better believe I was one of the very first ones to sign up. I absolutely recommend getting a big group of your girlfriends together and planning a trip to a pumpkin¬†patch together. Your Instagram¬†will be blowing up with cuteness! ūüôā

3. Movie Nights

One of the most comforting things is coming home from work, pouring yourself a glass of wine, grabbing your favorite throw blanket, and snuggling up to someone you love, whether it be a partner or a friend, and putting on a seasonal movie. Hocus Pocus, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Christmas Vacation are a few of my favorites. A date doesn’t¬†necessarily¬†mean you have to travel somewhere! Take a night to relax and enjoy your surroundings with a fall candle lit. p.s. the Sweater Weather candle from Bath and Body Works smells INCREDIBLE.

4. Haunted House

Untitled design (2)

Since Halloween has already passed, it’s a little too late to go to a haunted house, but it is definitely one of the best places to take someone on a date! When my boyfriend and I first started dating he took me to a haunted house called ‘Scare House of the South’….I.was.terrified. I didn’t¬†want to look like a wuss cause I was with his little sister and her longtime boyfriend, so I literally forced myself into this thing. The entire time I was screaming and squeezing the life out of Josh’s hand. But it worked out because the whole time he was comforting me, and I could tell that he was attracted to the fact that I was brave enough to go through with it because this was no ordinary haunted house…¬†Getting chased by chainsaw demons is not an everyday occurrence¬†Y’all…

5. Pecan Pickin’/Apple Orchard

If you are a nature-lover like me you appreciate this date. Pecan and apple orchards are breathtakingly beautiful.  Josh and I have already planned out a trip to Pearson Farm. It is a beautiful pecan farm in Fort Valley, GA.

I’m just excited about the beauty of it as much as I am as the tasty pecans and peaches they have! They also offer tours of the farm, and if you go online to their website you can use the pecans and peaches you pick with some of their very tasty recipes, yum!

Now, I am originally from North Georgia and that is where people are more familiar with apples. Growing up my family and I always attended the apple festivals in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and it was very common to see a few apple orchards here and there on the way up. Granny Smiths, Gala, Red Delicious, Honeycrisps…all the varieties of apples you can imagine. And there is something just so satisfying about picking your own apple and doing whatever you please with it, whether it be making a pie, apple cider, a caramel apple, or just eating it on its own. I’m telling you, you need to do it this season!

6. Football Game

Football Games are more than a big deal down south. I mean people will run you over just because you are the opposing team…you think I’m joking. Regardless of the violence, football games are so much fun! I always get so hyped dressing up head to toe in spirit wear and spending the entire day tailgating up until kick off. This is fun with a giant group of people, or with your significant other. Just have fun!

Thanks for reading! I hope this gives you a few ideas for some fun this season. Let me know what you do for fun in the Fall!

Tidal Rise

First of all, don’t get thrown off by the title…I am NOT getting married. Even though marriage is something I dream about on a day-to-day basis (such a hopeless romantic), it’s not my time yet. This past weekend was my Big’s (my big sister in my college sorority) bachelorette weekend! I am going to be one of her bridesmaids, along with multiple of my other sorority sisters from college.

The weekend took place in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We were blessed enough to stay in a condo right on the beach. Let’s start off by saying my friends love to have a good time. Now, I am not much of a drinker, but a bachelorette weekend is an exception right? ūüėČ

Our first day of fun began as a beach day. All the girls dragged themselves out of bed, threw on their bikinis, poured some wine/mixed drinks in some sparkly little tumblers, and spent the day soaking up the badly needed sunlight and discussing which of us was next to get engaged. (spoiler alert: It was me..lol)

After playing mom and making lunch for some of my less sober friends…

“Can you make me a bagel with peanut butter? NOT cream cheese, I need some protein.”

“Are these your Cheeto¬†puffs?…Can I steal some?”

“Can I have a bagel too Alexis?!”

Yes. Yes. and Yes… hahaha

All ten of us took showers and started getting ready for our adorable beach pictures in pink dresses. (and the bride in white of course)

I am to the very right

It wasn’t long before everyone started to complain about how hungry they were, so we suited up for dinner and our so called “crazy night out”.

We took over Senor Frogs in a little strip in Myrtle Beach. If you’ve never been to Senor Frogs it’s a very noisy atmosphere, family-oriented, and the waiters make crazy balloon hats for everyone. They also have a bar, so it can get pretty rowdy at times. The food took forever to get to us, but our waiter made sure that we had PLENTY of drinks and a few free shots to make up for it.

The funniest moment of the night was when the words “karaoke” and “free tequila shots” were heard across the table from the waiters mouth… He knew exactly what he was doing.

Minutes later I found myself, and nine of my frisky friends singing “My Humps” by the Black Eyed Peas on stage in front of a packed restaurant/bar. Why I choose to do this to myself…good question. ha! But the bride enjoyed it, so that is all that matters, and she’s my excuse when my boyfriend asks about all my crazy snap chats.

We threw back our well deserved shots and headed to our next adventure of the night. Little did we know we would end up at Dave and Buster’s playing ski ball instead of dancing at a club. Our poor little underage friend Karina got her fake I.D. taken at the bar we were supposed to go to. Oh, I remember those days…

But all was good because my granny self was exhausted and the bed was screaming my name.

Long story short, bachelorette weekends are meant to celebrate a time with the ladies you love and the one who’s lucky enough to have that diamond on her finger. Whether you have 1 tequila shot or 7, trust me you will have a good time.

Have you ever been to a bachelorette/bachelor weekend or party? Please tell me about it, I love hearing all the crazy stories!
