Lets get her hitched!

Watching one of your best friends get married is a beautiful thing. You may cry, smile, or faint cause you hate the dude, but this day was perfect! My sorority Big married her best friend, Caleb, Saturday and I am beyond happy for her.

The venue was absolutely gorgeous. It was in Marion, South Carolina at a little southern ranch. The ceremony was held outside next to a pond with a fountain that spewed water right behind the pastor as he sighted the sacred words that bonded the two together. All of us bridesmaids wore dresses that matched her maroon colored flowers on her bouquet and carried hydrangeas in our left hand with Caleb’s handsome groomsmen locked in our right arm.

The second best thing about this wedding was being able to share it with all of my best friends! Being in a sorority made it easy for Megan to choose her bridesmaids, and of course, most of us all happened to be AOll’s. The weekend was full of bonding and feeling like beautiful young women, doing each other’s makeup and hair and not to mention our boyfriends got to bond as well. Side note: The photographer loved us because we were so good at posing for pictures. You can thank sorority recruitment for that!!

This past weekend has truly given me wedding fever. Ever since I was a young girl I have dreamt of the day that I would get proposed to, where it would be, how I would react, and so on and so forth. I am such a sucker for love. God has placed a man on the earth for every woman to feel loved. I am so glad that I got to witness Megan live out God’s plan. I am definitely that girl who keeps a jar of “wedding plans” and sticks cutouts of wedding magazines in it for me to pull ideas from one day. haha! I just can’t help it. It will truly be the best day of my life.

With that being said… I’d love to hear your wedding stories! What was the theme? What color were the dresses? How many bridesmaids did you have? Let me know. I live for these things.

Tidal Rise

First of all, don’t get thrown off by the title…I am NOT getting married. Even though marriage is something I dream about on a day-to-day basis (such a hopeless romantic), it’s not my time yet. This past weekend was my Big’s (my big sister in my college sorority) bachelorette weekend! I am going to be one of her bridesmaids, along with multiple of my other sorority sisters from college.

The weekend took place in beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We were blessed enough to stay in a condo right on the beach. Let’s start off by saying my friends love to have a good time. Now, I am not much of a drinker, but a bachelorette weekend is an exception right? 😉

Our first day of fun began as a beach day. All the girls dragged themselves out of bed, threw on their bikinis, poured some wine/mixed drinks in some sparkly little tumblers, and spent the day soaking up the badly needed sunlight and discussing which of us was next to get engaged. (spoiler alert: It was me..lol)

After playing mom and making lunch for some of my less sober friends…

“Can you make me a bagel with peanut butter? NOT cream cheese, I need some protein.”

“Are these your Cheeto puffs?…Can I steal some?”

“Can I have a bagel too Alexis?!”

Yes. Yes. and Yes… hahaha

All ten of us took showers and started getting ready for our adorable beach pictures in pink dresses. (and the bride in white of course)

I am to the very right

It wasn’t long before everyone started to complain about how hungry they were, so we suited up for dinner and our so called “crazy night out”.

We took over Senor Frogs in a little strip in Myrtle Beach. If you’ve never been to Senor Frogs it’s a very noisy atmosphere, family-oriented, and the waiters make crazy balloon hats for everyone. They also have a bar, so it can get pretty rowdy at times. The food took forever to get to us, but our waiter made sure that we had PLENTY of drinks and a few free shots to make up for it.

The funniest moment of the night was when the words “karaoke” and “free tequila shots” were heard across the table from the waiters mouth… He knew exactly what he was doing.

Minutes later I found myself, and nine of my frisky friends singing “My Humps” by the Black Eyed Peas on stage in front of a packed restaurant/bar. Why I choose to do this to myself…good question. ha! But the bride enjoyed it, so that is all that matters, and she’s my excuse when my boyfriend asks about all my crazy snap chats.

We threw back our well deserved shots and headed to our next adventure of the night. Little did we know we would end up at Dave and Buster’s playing ski ball instead of dancing at a club. Our poor little underage friend Karina got her fake I.D. taken at the bar we were supposed to go to. Oh, I remember those days…

But all was good because my granny self was exhausted and the bed was screaming my name.

Long story short, bachelorette weekends are meant to celebrate a time with the ladies you love and the one who’s lucky enough to have that diamond on her finger. Whether you have 1 tequila shot or 7, trust me you will have a good time.

Have you ever been to a bachelorette/bachelor weekend or party? Please tell me about it, I love hearing all the crazy stories!
